Welcome to Georgie’s ‘Tails’.
Introducing an all new CATegory just for ‘Gorgeous Georgie’.
Georgie is a cheeky, mischievous little boy who came to live with us almost 1 year ago. Since then he has left his mark on us – in more ways than one :)
The first story I want to share with you is …
Georgie’s first Christmas with us.
Putting Up The Tree.
Because this was Georgie’s very first Christmas with us, we had no idea how he would react to the Christmas tree & the decorations. We decided we wouldn’t put any tinsel on the tree or anywhere he could reach, just in case he decided it looked ‘tasty’ (& he did).
I decided to just put the tree up at first, to see what would happen. At first he tried to eat it, but quickly discovered it ‘bit back’, so he left it alone. After about 2 days we decided he wasn’t going to try & climb it so I started putting up decorations, a few at a time. Eventually the tree was decorated & all was well.
The Gift.
We always buy our ‘fur-babies’ gifts at Christmas. Our last ‘fur-baby’ was Davie, another Devon Rex cat who was a very shy & timid ‘old man’. He never got the point of toys, or playing. To Davie, a good day was one spent sleeping in the sun, preferable out side, roast chicken for dinner & LOTS of hugs.
So when I was thinking of what I could get Georgie for Christmas, part of me was wondering if he would be like Davie & not really care.
Well – was I wrong!
I have never see a ‘fur-baby’ get so excited.
I bought him a tunnel, I wanted to get a proper ‘pet tunnel, but sometimes in small towns you just have to go with what you can get & what I could get was a ‘Batman’ tunnel for children. We opened his present first (yes I wrapped Georgie’s gift
) & we tossed bits of screwed up wrapping paper inside to see if we could entice him inside the tunnel. He was a little slow to react, but once he realised this was HIS toy, he just went crazy!
He raced around the room, in & out of the tunnel, played in the paper. But there was just one more thing he needed to make his gift complete …
A Christmas Tree Bauble!
He raced up to the Christmas tree & grab the first bauble he saw in him mouth & off he
went, straight into his tunnel with his prize!.
It’s over a month now since Christmas day & he is still having loads of fun with his tunnel.
I hope you enjoyed this little story from Georgie.
Do you have ‘fur-babies’? Do you buy them gifts for Christmas or their birthdays?
Leave a comment below – I’d love to hear what the best gift was you bought for your ‘fur-baby’.
Bye for now …
Love Mignon & Georgie :)
